Abstract

The word “identity” comes from the Latin identifico (identify), identicus (identity, identical, identity, the coincidence of two objects or conceptsrd). This concept is recorded in the works of such scholars as: S. Huntington, E. Erikson, and many others The essence of this concept is due primarily interdisciplinary nature of the problem of identity. During the term “socio-cultural identity” is not so much logically rigorous notion of how phenomenon with complex socio-psychological content and the deep cultural and historical roots. The concept of “identity” is now widely used in ethnology, psychology, cultural and social anthropology. In the most general sense, it means understanding the person of his belonging to any group that allows him to determine his place in the social and cultural space and freely navigate the world around them.
